At the 8th edition of the Fair of interior design InDizajn, the professional public will have the opportunity to listen to renowned domestic and foreign names in the field of architecture and design. So far, we have hosted several international and regional lecturers from the field of architecture and design, such as Stefano Boeri, Snøhetta studio, Harquitectes, Mecanoo, Zoran Jedrejčić, A&D studio, Gregorc & Vrhovec studio, AKSL architects, OBE studio and many others.
This year, the fair will host Jürgen Mayer H., a German architect and founder of the J. MAYER office. H & Partners, known for projects at the intersection of architecture, communication and new technologies. His recognizable work “Metropol Parasol” in Seville has gained global fame and has become a new symbol of the city. “In architecture, I am most interested in creating spaces that encourage people to react and question their own relationship to space,” says Mayer H.
The renowned Italian architect Peter Pichler, known for his combination of tradition, local materials and modern technology, will also inspire the domestic audience with his lecture. His projects, among which YOUNA Nature Resorts in the Alps stand out, redefine the connection between architecture and nature and the context of space. “I believe that architecture must have a strong connection with the place – physical, emotional, cultural and historical. Every space carries a certain story, and our task is to feel, interpret and convey this through the modern language of architecture,” emphasizes Pichler in announcing his arrival in Zagreb.
How does space affect our emotions, habits and interactions? Answers to these questions will offer Michela Galli, an interior designer from the Italian studio Mario Cucinella Architects, who in her work emphasizes design that starts from within, from the real needs of the users. “Creating interiors means understanding how people live, communicate and feel space. We start from a design philosophy that prioritizes user experience, functionality and people over aesthetics,” says Galli.
David Messner and Verena Messner, architects from South Tyrol and founders of Messner Architects, will present their approach based on the fusion of architecture, landscape and design. Their projects are characterized by careful consideration of space and context, and in particular stand out “20/A – Artists Studio”, recognized on Archilovers for its aesthetics and functionality, and “RVTK”, nominated for ArchDaily Building of the Year 2025. “I believe that architecture should not dominate space, but complement it. In each project, I strive to listen to and understand the environment, in order to create solutions that are sustainable, contextual and truly useful,” they emphasized.
Along with numerous foreign architects and designers, Martina Salitrežić, an expert in landscape architecture and interiors from the multidisciplinary SIRRAH project team, which brings together over 30 certified engineers and architects with more than 30 years of experience, will also participate in the fair. She participated in two SIRRAH project projects that were awarded the prestigious BIG SEE award: the interior design of the Slavonian Materra hotel and the sports architecture of the Opus Arena. She is also the co-author of the architectural solution for the future football stadium in Kranjčevićeva Street in Zagreb. “The best projects arise precisely from the balance between technical precision and design vision, which allows us to continuously deliver quality and sustainable solutions tailored to the needs of clients and end users,” says Salitrežić.
